A motorcyclist is facing a host of charges after filming himself fleeing from police at speeds over 250 km/h, investigators allege, then posting video of the chase on his social media.

In a video on X, formerly Twitter, York Regional Police said the man posted video showing himself driving dangerously, effectively "putting his life and others at risk for clout on social media."

Police included some of his footage in their arrest video — alongside footage of the man's motorcycle later being seized and hauled away on a truck.

In the video, the man can be seen blowing past other cars at night, on top of weaving in and out of traffic.

He now faces 16 counts of dangerous operation, 14 counts of stunt driving and two counts of flight from police.

"Doing it for social' is no excuse for dangerous driving," police said in the post.
