Motorist clinging to life after serious crash in Surrey

One person is in critical condition, and another was also taken to hospital, after a serious crash in Surrey, B.C. on Saturday night.

The collision happened just before 11 p.m. PT at the intersection of Scott Road and Highway 10.

Police say a black sports utility vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 10 appears to have struck the driver's side of a white sedan that was travelling north on Scott Road. The SUV then struck a stop light post on the median.

Members of the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are investigating the crash.

The area around the intersection was closed for several hours for the investigation.
