Motorists Rescue Moose Tangled in Fence Along Remote Canadian Road

After noticing animal tracks along a remote road in Princeton, British Columbia, a couple reversed their vehicle and helped rescue a moose tangled in a fence, video recorded on January 24 shows.

Footage recorded by Angie Hillmer shows her husband, Kirk Douglas Barharn, untangling the hooves of the toppled animal. Hillmer told Storyful they originally saw the moose’s tracks along the snow while driving.

“I wanted a photo of it, so I asked Kirk to reverse the vehicle,” Hillmer said.

Upon realizing the moose was stuck, the couple decided to attend to the animal. Hillmer told Storyful they couldn’t contact anyone else for help as there was no cell service along the road.

Hillmer commented in the post that her husband was “over the moon” after helping the moose. Credit: Kirk Douglas Barharn via Storyful
