Motorola Set to Take On Apple Watch With Customisable ‘360’ Smartwatch Collection

Motorola has unveiled its second generation of Android smartwatches which allows shoppers to customise their own design.

Unveiled at IFA 2015 - the annual tech show in Berlin - the new Moto 360 follows Apple’s lead by offering two different sized watch faces, measuring 42mm and 46mm.

Buyers can also choose from a section of different bezels and wristbands, which be easily swapped to change the look of the watch.

Powered by Google’s smartwatch-centric Android Wear software, the 360 features new sensors for users to track their steps, heart rate and calories burned

The new watches are also Wi-Fi enabled so that users will still get updates from their phone even if they’re out of Bluetooth range.

Motorola also unveiled the 360 Sport smartwatch, which sports a silicone wristband.

A built-in GPS tracker enables users to track speed, distance and pace. What’s more, the watch can be used on its own so users don’t need to take their smartphone out running with them.

All of the new smartwatches are said to offer an improved two-day battery life, while the original 360 model offered just one day of power.

While Motorola’s original model stood out from the crowd as being the only the smartwatch with a round face, nearly all of this year’s new smartwatch’s are round, with the exception of the Apple Watch.

Several other brands have also announced new circular smartwatches at the tech show, including Samsung and Huawei.

Motorola’s new 360 Collection will go on sale later this month with prices starting at £229, depending on the chosen design.
