MSNBC Host Points Out The Immediate Irony Of Donald Trump's New 'Department'
MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle on Tuesday called out the contradiction of a new government entity that has been announced by President-elect Donald Trump.
Trump has tapped billionaire Elon Musk and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to head a new so-called Department of Government Efficiency (which isn’t actually an official government agency, because that needs congressional approval) to slash public spending and red tape.
Ruhle noted, “It’s the Department of Government Efficiency and they’ve got two guys running it, Vivek and Elon.”
“That doesn’t sound so efficient,” she added.

Ruhle’s subsequent discussion on the “department” with CNBC analyst Ron Insana and the Economic Innovation Group’s Cardiff Garcia noted the conflicts of interest that Musk and Ramaswamy may face in their roles.
The trio also talked about the possibility that the “department” may end up achieving nothing whatsoever, if Trump doesn’t like what they propose.
Trump, though, claimed in a statement about the announcement that the pair will “pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies — Essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement.”
