How much rain fell during last night's storms?

A series of evening and overnight thunderstorms on Thursday — which brought with them dark clouds, thunder and lightning — dumped more than 20 millimetres of rain in some parts of the province.

Here are some of the precipitation totals recorded by Environment Canada:

- North Cape: 37.1 mm.

- Charlottetown: 20.8 mm.

- Harrington: 4.3 mm.

- St. Peters: 4.2 mm.

- Maple Plains 3.8 mm.

The Island's volunteer weather stations also reported the following precipitation totals:

- Summerside: 28.1 mm.

- O'Leary: 18.4 mm.

- East Point: 13.8 mm.

CBC P.E.I. weatherman Kevin "Boomer" Gallant kept a watchful eye as the storms passed over the province.

Other Islanders also took to social media to capture stunning images of the storms.
