They may have divorced 23 years ago, but it’s only now being revealed how much Sarah Ferguson got in her divorce settlement with Prince Andrew.

The royal couple, who split married in 1986 and have two children together, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, divorced in 1996, after 10 years of marriage.

And despite the pair now being on friendly terms, even living together at Royal Lodge in Windsor, their divorce ultimately ended with a huge payout to the Duchess of York.

According to The Sunday Times, Fergie received £2 million from the royal family.

£500,000 of that is said to have come from the Queen, so Fergie could move out and find her own home.

A further £1.4 million was reportedly put into Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s trust funds and the rest was kept by the Duchess.

After their separation in 1993, Fergie revealed she was heavily in debt and told Hello! magazine that if it wasn’t for Prince Andrew’s kindness, she would have been ‘homeless’.

The Duchess of York, who is now 58 years old, also previously revealed in an interview with KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson that she and Prince Andrew get along famously despite being like passing ships in the night sometimes.

“I’m in and out all the time and he’s in and out all the time,” she said.

“He is the finest man in my life – he is a nugget of goodness. I threw myself into a love affair for life.”

The Duchess has gushed about Prince Andrew in the past, telling Hello! magazine that they ‘support each other emotionally’ and ‘health wide’.
