Toronto crack cocaine probe leads to 5 arrests

Five people were arrested in Toronto on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into the alleged sale and distribution of crack cocaine.

At about 5 a.m., Toronto police say they executed a series of search warrants in the Blake Street and Boultbee Avenue area.

A police tow truck was also involved in the sweep. A Chrysler 200 with evidence seals was towed from one of the addresses.

Four adults and a 17-year-old male now face drug-related charges.

Some of the charges laid include trafficking in cocaine, as well as the possession of both heroin and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say the charges have been laid following a two-month investigation.

The accused, all of whom are from Toronto, are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.

The allegations against the accused have not been proven.
