Multiple bodies found inside vehicle by deputies responding to shooting, SC cops say

The bodies of two adult men were found in South Carolina late Saturday night, and the deaths are being investigated as a double homicide, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

At about 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Koon Store Road, the sheriff’s department said Sunday afternoon in a news release. That’s in a more rural part of Columbia between U.S. 21/Wilson Boulevard and S.C. 215/Monticello Road.

Deputies found the dead bodies inside of a vehicle, according to the release.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the men that the sheriff’s department called homicide victims.

No other injuries were reported.

There was no word about a shooter or shooters, or if anyone else was involved in the gunfire. Information about a motive for the shooting was not available.

No arrests have been reported by the sheriff’s department, which said it’s continuing to investigate the deaths.
