Murder inquiry after death of delivery driver

Police have launched a murder investigation after the death of an Amazon delivery driver during the apparent theft of his van in Leeds.

Officers were called to reports of a man found seriously injured in Heights Drive, Wortley, just before 19:00 BST on Tuesday.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was given emergency treatment by ambulance staff, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, West Yorkshire Police said.

Officers said they believed the man had returned to his van after delivering a parcel and found a male attempting to steal the vehicle. He died after the van was driven off at speed.
