The long Easter weekend can always be relied on to provide better television fare than usual, and 2020 is no different - although, it’s become more important than ever as the UK remains under lockdown.

As usual, viewers can expect to see some film favourites back on the box as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the like are resurrected for another year. But as well as the pictures we all know and love, there is also some exciting new stuff making its way to the small screen this weekend.

Saturday sees family-friendly flicks aplenty during the day as Roald Dahl adaption Matilda starts at 2.35pm on Channel 4 before the aforementioned classic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang follows it at 4.40pm.

The evening also brings about the return of Britain’s Got Talent as it enters into its 14th series. Thankfully, as the auditions are prerecorded they will still air as normal, while the live shows are set to take place later in the year.
