Myrtle Beach automotive shop surprised by 8-foot boa constrictor under car’s hood

A service technician at a Myrtle Beach automotive dealer got a big surprise Tuesday morning when a giant, albino boa constrictor was discovered under the hood of a vehicle.

The 8-foot snake was found in the vehicle as it was about to be serviced at Beach Ford Automotive Group, 851 Jason Blvd.

The snake didn’t belong to the vehicle’s owner, said Lynnette Crow, service manager. “They had absolutely no idea,” Crow said.

Crow said the snake had apparently been in the vehicle since it was placed inside the shop overnight. When the service team saw how big the snake was, someone was called to come get it out, Crow said.

This isn’t the first animal that technicians have found inside a vehicle. Crow said there have been squirrels and smaller snakes, but nothing of this size.
