After a mysterious absence, Real Housewives of Miami star posts heartbreaking update

A beloved castmate from the “Real Housewives of Miami” was missing from filming earlier this week, and people had questions.

On Friday, Dr. Nicole Martin, who joined the franchise during its Season 4 reboot in 2021, explained why.

On Instagram Friday, the anesthesiologist revealed that she has been dealing with mental health struggles and will not continue to take part in the reality show.

The 39-year-old fan favorite, who gave birth to a baby girl five months ago, explained that she is suffering from “significant” post partum anxiety.

This condition was something new, Martin said, adding she did not experience it with her first child, 5-year-old son Grayson (dad is her fiancé, local attorney Anthony Lopez).

The post showed a picture of the new mom cradling little Genevieve, who was born slightly premature, and spent almost two weeks in the NICU.

“It all started about a week after giving birth when I found myself having an overwhelming sense of worry and fear out of nowhere,” read the UM alum’s lengthy caption. “It felt like my mind was constantly on high alert, panicked and worrying endlessly about the health of my baby, myself and my family.”

Martin went on to explain that postpartum anxiety is more common than you think, giving the statistic that “one in five mothers” experience mental health disorders. And the key for anyone struggling is to keep lines of communication open.

“By sharing our experiences, we can offer each other comfort and strength, and remind one another that we’re not alone,” the Miami native concluded. “This is a part of my life that I am learning to navigate, and it’s been an emotional rollercoaster.”

Whether the skincare entrepreneur will ever return to the Bravo hit is unclear.

“Prioritizing my health and my family is something I need to do at this moment. It’s a step towards healing and finding balance, and I hope you can understand and support this choice,” she concluded. “Thank you for being a part of this journey with me and for creating a space where I feel comfortable sharing these parts of my life.”
