N.S. reports 4 COVID-19 deaths, daily average of 213 positive PCR tests in weekly update
Nova Scotia is reporting four COVID-19 deaths in the past week and a daily average of 213 lab-confirmed cases in its latest update.
The figures are from a seven-day period that ended June 27.
There were a total of 1,491 positive PCR tests, a slight increase from last week. That number does not include positive rapid test results.
Three of the people who died were over the age of 70, and one person was between 50 and 69.

One of the people who died was either unvaccinated or only had one dose of the vaccine. The remaining three had at least three doses. One of the people who died was also a resident of a long-term care home.
Since March 2020, there have been 442 COVID-19 deaths in Nova Scotia. About three-quarters of those deaths happened during the Omicron wave, which began Dec. 8, 2021.

Nova Scotia Health says 21 people are in hospital due to COVID-19, with three in intensive care. Last week, there were 22 people in hospital.
Another 122 people have COVID-19 but are in hospital for another reason, according to the health authority. A further 64 people contracted COVID-19 after being admitted to hospital.

According to the province's weekly epidemiological report, there were a total of 28 people hospitalized due to COVID-19 in the province between June 20 and 27.

Seven people between 50 and 69
18 people over 70
According to the province, those unvaccinated or with only one dose have 9x the rate of death compared to
those with two doses and 16x the rate of death compared to those with three or more doses.
