Nahanni Butte, N.W.T., man charged in weekend stabbing
A 20-year-old man from Nahanni Butte, N.W.T., has been charged after a person was stabbed at a residence in the community on Saturday.
RCMP in Fort Liard, N.W.T., got a call at around 9 p.m. that night about the stabbing and headed to the community. A medevac plane was also dispatched while police were en route.
The injured person was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife for treatment.
Police arrested the male suspect at the residence.
He has been charged with aggravated assault.
Nahanni Butte, a community with a population of about 100, does not have an RCMP detachment.
