Narrow miss as child's stroller struck in Cochrane hit and run

There were some tense moments at the Walmart parking lot in Cochrane Tuesday as a stroller was struck in a hit-and-run incident, police said in a release.

The mom and child are fine but shaken.

Police say a mother had parked her vehicle and was unloading her child and stroller at about 12:50 p.m.

Her vehicle and the stroller were struck by another vehicle. The stroller was knocked over and damaged but fortunately the child was not in it.

The mom attempted to get the driver's attention but the driver left the scene, police say.

The suspect driver is described as a woman in her 50s or 60s with dirty blond hair and glasses. She was driving a dark-coloured Jeep Patriot in the direction of the Source electronics store.

Cochrane RCMP ask anyone with information on the incident to contact them at 403-851-8000 or through Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
