Nash Campbell, Patricia Hennessey murder-suicide inquest date set

A date for the inquest into the murder-suicide of four-year-old Nash Campbell and his mother Patricia Hennessey, 37 — whose bodies were found in a burned-out vehicle in the summer of 2013 — has been set for March 9 by P.E.I.'s chief coroner.

Firefighters found their bodies in a charred vehicle on Martin Road in St. Felix in western P.E.I., on June 21, 2013.

A police investigation showed that both Campbell and Hennessey had prescription drugs in their systems when they died of smoke inhalation.

Sources told CBC News that Hennessey, who was from Stratford, had lost custody of her son the day before.

The bodies were found just hours before the boy was to be turned over to his father Marc Campbell.

The inquest is expected to take a week and will be heard by Prince County coroner Dr. Roy Montgomery.

It will be held at Prince County Provincial Court in Summerside.
