NBA betting: Best bet for Bucks vs. Hawks Game 6

After a rare day without playoff basketball on Friday, the Eastern Conference Finals resumes on Saturday night with Game 6 between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks.

The series is back in Atlanta after the Bucks cruised to a Game 5 victory in Milwaukee to take a 3-2 series edge. Can the Bucks close it out on the road? Or will the Hawks force a pivotal Game 7?

Even without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is nursing a knee injury, the Bucks were able to put together an excellent offensive performance in their Game 5 win.

Four of the Bucks five starters scored at least 22 points. Brook Lopez led the way with 33 while Khris Middleton posted 26 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Jrue Holiday also had a double-double with 25 points and 13 assists. The Bucks also got a huge lift from Bobby Portis, who added 22.

On the other side, the Hawks were without Trae Young for a second straight game due to a bone bruise in his foot. His team prevailed without him in Game 4, but could not do it again on the road.

While Antetokounmpo is listed as doubtful for Game 6, Young is considered questionable. The injury status of this series’ two biggest stars makes this game a tough one to assess for bettors.

With the series back in Atlanta, the Hawks are 2-point home favorites with the total sitting at 215.5. The Hawks are 4-3 against the spread at home during the postseason, with the under going 5-2 in those seven games.

The Bucks, meanwhile, are 4-4 ATS on the road in the playoffs. The under is 5-2-1 in those eight games.

Even though the trends lean toward the under, Yahoo Sports’ Minty Bets is going a different direction with the total in this game. She’s taking the over.

“I know both of these teams take pride in their defensive ability, but I’ll be looking for lots of points on the board. I’ll look to the over,” Minty said.

Games 1 and 5 of this series have gone over the total. In between, there were three straight unders.
