NBA playoffs: Trae Young out again for Game 5, hopes to return for Game 6

If the Atlanta Hawks want to take a lead in the Eastern Conference finals, they'll have to do it without Trae Young. Again.

The Hawks star has been ruled out for a second straight game with a foot injury ahead of Game 5 against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews. There are reportedly hopes that Young will be able to return for Game 6 as Young continues his rehab.

The Hawks will be playing a Bucks team without their own superstar, as Giannis Antetokounmpo was also ruled out earlier on Thursday. BetMGM moved the Bucks to -3.5 favorites in light of the Young news.

Young has been one of the breakout stars of the NBA postseason, averaging 29.8 points and 9.5 assists per game so far for a Hawks team that has more than exceeded expectations with its ECF run.

Missing Young didn't phase the Hawks much in Game 4 though, as the team was in the lead even before Antetokounmpo's exit with a hyperextended left knee opened the door for a blowout. Six different Hawks scored in double figures, led by a 21-point, 8-assist night from Lou Williams, who was starting in Young's place.

Tip-off for Game 5 is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET in Milwaukee. The series is currently tied 2-2.
