Neighbors Help Woman Find Her Wedding Ring After She Loses it in Candy Bowl on Halloween

The Utah resident was busy getting ready for the big day and didn't realize her wedding ring had fallen off during the preparation

Halloween was spookier than expected for one unfortunate woman in Utah.

Nicole Graveley got a scare she will never forget while preparing goodie bags filled with candy, puzzles, and fidget toys for trick-or-treaters. The Bountiful, Utah resident was busy getting ready for the big day and didn't realize her wedding ring had fallen off until the day after Halloween.

Although she and her husband have been married for 19 years, she told KSL.com that she had only had the ring for four months, being that it had been upgraded in July.

Knowing it was a brand-new ring made the experience extremely stressful. "I tore my living room apart. I thought it was gone," she said.

Since she and her husband just moved to their neighborhood approximately two years ago, she turned to a community Facebook page to spread the word and was overwhelmed by the response.

According to the outlet, multiple neighbors rallied together to check their children's treat bags, and offer different suggestions.

Gravely got the surprise of a lifetime when a neighbor returned the lost ring after her young daughters found it mixed with all their candy. She told the outlet that she was extremely grateful for the outcome, being that the children could have kept the ring for themselves.

"I was super excited," Gravely said. "Her little girls are amazing because they could have just kept it and not said anything." Upon updating her local Facebook group with the good news, multiple neighbors shared their excitement.

According to KSL, one neighbor posted in response, "This made [me] cry, actually sobbing. I am so happy for you and so thankful for the honest/kind family that found your ring."

Buying candy for the holiday continues to be a popular tradition. According to CNN Business, Halloween candy sales grew 14% between 2021 and 2022. The outlet reports that consumers in the U.S. spent more than $3.7 billion on candy during the six-week period before the holiday in 2022.
