Getting along with neighbours can be a challenge, particularly when they insist on meddling in private affairs. A teen from Kansas learned this important life lesson when her neighbour accused her of smoking a cigar while driving.

Sarah Holder is a high school senior and as such, should not be smoking anything, a fact of which she was aware. So it came as a surprise when Sarah received the following text message from her neighbour, Amy, whose children Sarah sometimes babysits.

“Hey Sweetie it’s Amy! Randy was out mowing when he said he noticed you drive past smoking a cigar of some sort. A lot of children live on the street so I will speak on their behalf and request you keep your habits private from the kids!”

Sarah was taken aback by the message, mostly because she hadn’t been smoking at all, but had instead been consuming something moderately more healthy: a taquito.

The teen responded to the text with a photo of herself with taquito in hand and then posted the whole exchange to Twitter.

Once online, the story quickly caught fire.

It seems the internet enjoys seeing a nosy neighbour put in her place.
