Neighbours' David and Aaron consider surrogacy after Emmett's departure

Neighbours' David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan are set to contemplate surrogacy following the departure of foster child Emmett Donaldson.
It's fair to say the pair have struggled when it comes to parenting so far, having been initially put off by an intrusive interview process, before being assigned an unexpected teen ward – despite having requested a youngster between two and five – and dealing with the arrival of Emmett's unruly brother Brent (Texas Watterston).

Eventually though, the unlikely trio found its feet and things started looking up for the married couple. That was, until Emmett (Ezra Justin) decided to move away from Ramsay Street and go live with his aunt instead.
Unaware that Aaron's sister Chloe (April Rose Pengilly) has lost her baby, Aaron (Matt Wilson) and David (Takaya Honda) start to dread her upcoming baby shower in scenes set to air next week, and begin thinking about what their options might be if they're ever going to achieve their goal of having a happy family unit.
The pair eventually decide that they'd be open to fostering another child in the future, but David also brings up the idea of having their own.
He wins Aaron round by pointing out all of the obstacles they have faced since they kicked off their fostering journey and argues that if they were to have their own baby, they'd have full control of the situation. With surrogacy, perhaps everything will wind up working out...
Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, October 5 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
