LeAnn Rimes and "The X Factor's" Carly Rose Sonenclar weren't quite in sync when they performed "How Do I Live Without You" on Wednesday night's show and it immediately sparked some controversy. But on Thursday, the country singer tried to quash the rumors by Tweeting out a statement.

"In my 18 years of performing, I have never been anything but professional onstage," LeAnn wrote. "It is a shame that gossip and lies are overshadowing the performance of Carly, a very talented young girl.

Simon Cowell defended the guest performer in a video posted on TMZ. When asked if he thought she was "on something," by a cameraman, the Brit replied, "No, I think she was just happy."
