The NHL has reached an agreement to send players to the Beijing 2022 Olympics.
The league and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) reached a joint agreement with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) on Friday following months of negotiations to ensure safe participation.
It will be the sixth Olympic tournament to feature NHL players, but the league hasn't participated since the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia.
"Representing their country in the Olympics is important to the players, even in these uncertain times," said Don Zavelo, NHLPA general counsel.
"The players look forward to pulling on their nation's hockey sweater at the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing as they compete for the gold medal."
