'Who killed Andrea?' was The Night Of's central mystery – and now it's finally been cleared up by ex-HBO president of mini-series Kary Antholis.

Starring Venom baddie Riz Ahmed and The Batman's John Turturro, this eight-part crime drama aired back in 2016 and centred on a Pakistani-American accused of murdering a young woman named Andrea after they spend a night together.

Taking a seat on The John Roa Show podcast, Kary reflected: "I mean, I think it's pretty clear that the financial advisor killed her – but you know, it's purposely... Steve [Zaillian, writer and director] throughout that process wanted to keep people on edge, wanted people to have doubt."

The financial advisor in question was of course Ray Halle, portrayed by Designated Survivor actor Paulo Costanzo.

So there we have it. Four years of headache-y fascination is now over, doesn't it feel good?

Meanwhile, Ahmed previously reflected on a "really great bond" he shared with Turturro during the making of the series.

"Working with John... I loved it. We just got along really well and I learnt a lot from him. He's done a lot of theatre, so many different kinds of work, so I enjoyed just talking to him about acting," he exclusively told us back in 2016.

"He has a way of always imparting deep wisdom through dancing or cooking or sex metaphors. He's like, 'Y'know, when you're cooking a steak, you just gotta tenderise, you just leave it in there – and it's the same with a scene...' – and I was like, yeah, that's true, f**k. He's full of that kind of stuff – I loved it."
