Talk about (literally) going to the dogs.

A Los Angeles man made a noble, but a disastrous attempt at breaking the world record for most dogs walked at the same time.

Bob Morris was up for the challenge after one of his clients asked him to break the five-year-old record. He thought he had the task in the (doggy) bag, but it turns out, coordinating several dozen dogs around a track for one kilometer on one leash is a massive undertaking.

The ambitious mission involved walking 45 dogs around the track three times. After watching YouTube videos of previous, unsuccessful attempts, Morris calculated how he could do it better.

He fastened a bunch of carabiners to a long rope, which the dogs could be fastened to, two-by-two. But in the end, it was a hairy ordeal.

“Every corner was a disaster,” Morris told the Washington Post.

The dogs weren’t comfortable on the track’s surface, which prompted them to start running. Many got tangled and some slide out of their harnesses.

While some of the dog owners wanted to help out, they couldn’t since it would go against Guinness rules. Only Morris could hold the leash.

However, Morris says he isn’t bow(wow)ing out just yet — he’s planning to give it another go eventually.
