Non-Americans, What's Wrong With American Politics?

Many people in the US are still reeling from Donald Trump winning the election. It almost seems like a nightmare we can't wake up from.

Then last week, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed in Midtown Manhattan. Luigi Mangione is currently facing a series of charges, including second-degree murder — though there are plans to upgrade this to premeditated first-degree murder.

So, I'm curious: non-Americans, what do you think is wrong with American politics?

Maybe you live in a country where you can go to the hospital without worrying about going bankrupt over it. You can't imagine putting profits above people's health.

Perhaps you're alarmed by the billionaires who seem to be taking over the American government. You don't believe that billionaires will put the good of the people above their own interests, and you're grateful that your country has spending caps for elections in an effort to level the playing field.

Maybe you're dismayed that Americans voted for Trump again, this time after he was found liable for sexual assault. You believe this sends a message to women and girls across the US, and you're thankful that your country would never vote in someone with a similar record.

Or perhaps you're horrified by the gun violence in the US. You're grateful that people don't commonly own guns in your country due to strict laws, and you think the American people would be safer with similar regulations.
