Norfolk County soil bandits steal $2,500 worth of dirt

Thieves in Norfolk County hit pay dirt on Tuesday when they made off with more than 6,000 pounds of virgin soil from a Townsend address.

Norfolk County OPP say 125 bags of soil, each weighing about 50 pounds, were taken from a property on Villa Nova Road around 1:20 p.m.

The stolen soil is valued at roughly $2,500.

Investigators are keeping their ears to the ground but have yet to unearth any clues as to who carried out this dirty deed.
