North-end Halifax fire leaves one person dead

One person is dead after an overnight house fire in the north-end of Halifax, according to Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency.

Fire division commander Chuck Bezanson called the victim an "older person."

He says crews arrived to find the Barrington Street house on fire. The man died in hospital.

Bezanson says the house is damaged, but repairable.

There is still no word on the cause.

Firefighters also responded to two other fires overnight:

A house fire in Lower Sackville has left four people out of their home.

They also attended a brush fire on Old Sambro Road.
