North Myrtle Beach oceanfront hotel catches fire. Crews battle flames on one of top floors

A North Myrtle Beach oceanfront hotel caught fire Friday afternoon.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responded to the fire about 12:30 p.m. at Bay Watch Resort, 2701 S. Ocean Blvd., according to a Facebook post.

Smoke was visible on the 19th floor of Building 1, the post said.

The fire was extinguished on an oceanfront balcony of a unit. Fire damage was contained to the outside of the unit.

No injuries were reported. It is unclear what caused the fire.
