CTrain service was briefly interrupted on Sunday afternoon in northeast Calgary after a car rolled over onto the tracks.

Police said at 3:39 p.m., officers noticed a black Honda Civic had rolled over a barrier and onto the tracks near the intersection of 36th Street and 16th Avenue N.E.

EMS said the driver was able to walk away from the crash, and that nobody was taken to hospital.

CTrains were being held inbound at Rundle Station and Outbound at Marlborough Station "due to an ongoing CPS matter," Calgary Transit wrote on Twitter, but full service resumed — about 25 minutes behind schedule — after 5 p.m.

The left, southbound lane of 36th Street was also blocked as police were on scene investigating.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
