Calgary police are investigating after a person was hit and killed by a CTrain in the city's northeast early Monday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., emergency crews were called to the Whitehorn LRT Station on 36th Street N.E. That station was temporarily closed while police investigated the scene. It has since reopened.

Police did not confirm the person's age or gender.

Calgary Transit brought in shuttle buses to transport Blue Line commuters between the Rundle and McKnight–Westwinds LRT stations.

Traffic near the Whitehorn station was diverted during investigation.
