Northumberland Ferries crossing cancelled for day

New fall ferry schedule between P.E.I. and N.S. starts Sept. 4

Ferry crossings on the Northumberland Strait have been cancelled today due to high winds.

The company announced on its website Friday morning that all sailings between Caribou, N.S., and Wood Islands, P.E.I., were cancelled for the day.

This time of year the ferry makes three crossings from each side a day.

Environment Canada's marine forecast for the Northumberland Strait is calling for strong to gale-force northwesterlies. There is also a freezing spray warning.
