With submissions for Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Communities in Bloom Committee Garden of the week contest now underway, the committee has announced prizes that participants could potentially win.
There are 10 categories, and the top winner of each will receive a $30 gift certificate, along with a lawn sign announcing their victory, courtesy of Scotts Miracle-Gro and a bottle of wine courtesy of Andrew Niven of Konzelmann Estate Winery.
The children’s garden category winner will also receive $50 in gift certificates for Chef and Bub Gourmet Ice Pops, courtesy of Terri-Lynn Woodhouse.
“On behalf of the committee, I’d like to send a special thanks to all of our sponsors for their generous prize donations,” said Bette Ann James, Communities in Bloom Committee vice-chair.
“I’d also like to thank all the contributing members of Communities in Bloom committee, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Horticultural Society for sharing their wealth of gardening wisdom through our weekly gardening columns.”
There are three columns remaining in the gardening series.
“Niagara-on-the-Lake residents have some of the most beautiful gardens in the region,” said Lord Mayor Betty Disero. “We’ve already seen some beautiful submissions, and I can’t wait to see more of what our local gardening enthusiasts are working on. Thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful community initiative."
