Nova Scotia expecting up to 15 cm of snow on Atlantic Coast

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for parts of Nova Scotia as up to 15 cm of snow could hit the province on Saturday, while the rest of the Maritimes could see up to 4 cm of the white stuff.

The weather statement has been issued for Nova Scotia counties on the Atlantic Coast. Environment Canada says a low-pressure system will approach from the south this morning and pass offshore tonight. The snow should hit Cape Breton by noon and end early Sunday morning.

Ten to 15 cm of snow is expected for areas on the Atlantic Coast, while the rest of the province should see less snow than that.

New Brunswick forecast

In New Brunswick, Fredericton is expected to hit a high of 1 C today and some flurries are expected this evening.

The temperature in Moncton should remain steady at about -1 C today. Some flurries will develop around noon and about 2 cm of snow is expected this evening.

Saint John has the same forecast as Moncton, except the temperature today will hold steady around 0 C.

P.E.I. forecast

In Charlottetown, a few flurries will begin around noon and end around midnight. A total of 2 to 4 cm of snow is expected.
