Nova Scotia reports one new virus-related death, 32 new cases of COVID-19

HALIFAX — Nova Scotia is reporting its 97th death related to COVID-19 as well as 32 new infections today.

Officials say a man in his 70s in the northern health zone died of the disease.

Premier Tim Houston offered his condolences in a news release and urged people to get vaccinated.

Twenty-seven new cases are in the Halifax area, while three are in the northern zone and two are in the eastern zone.

Officials say there is community spread in the Halifax area, primarily among people aged 20 to 40 who are unvaccinated.

The province has 205 active reported cases of COVID-19 and 13 people in hospital with the disease, including one in intensive care.
