Now that Buckingham Palace Won’t Comment on Meghan & Harry Anymore, Who Is Handling Their Communications?

It’s official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer working members of the royal family. And we learned yesterday that Buckingham Palace will not be commenting on the duo (or baby Archie) in an official capacity moving forward.

According to Town & Country, a spokesperson for the couple revealed the news in an official statement, writing, “Effective March 31, 2020, no other Royal communications representatives act on behalf of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, including Palace spokespeople, Household representatives nor Royal sources. Going forward, Buckingham Palace will no longer comment/guide on Sussex related enquiries.” So, if Buckingham Palace isn’t handling communications for Meghan and Harry anymore, who is?

The statement also revealed that from now on, the couple will have a completely separate communications team. Per the outlet, their communications will be managed by the U.S.-based agency Sunshine Sachs (a full-service communications firm) and the U.K.-based James Holt (who is Head of Engagement and Communications for the Sussexes), while they work on building a brand-new team.

And that’s not the only thing changing for the royal couple. It seems the two are also saying goodbye to their shared @SussexRoyal Instagram account. On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a message of thanks to their 11.3 million followers and said goodbye. They shared an image that included their official royal cipher and read “Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world.” They simply signed it “Harry & Meghan.”

Two separate teams working for these guys? That’s impressive.
