Number of young adults living with their parents ‘increased steadily’ between 2001 and 2016: Statistics Canada

Laurent Martel, director of the demography division of Statistics Canada, said Wednesday that the number of young adults living with their parents “increased steadily” between 2001 and 2016. However, he said the trend had leveled off in the years between 2016 and 2021, especially in large cities. He said this might be partially due to Canadians moving out of large cities during the pandemic.
