Nurse dies in two-vehicle crash on U.S. 501 in Myrtle Beach area. Here’s what we know
A hospice nurse died Monday evening from injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 501.
Linda Sullivan, 61, of Georgetown died on the scene, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy.
The accident occurred about 4:22 p.m. at U.S. 501 and West Perry Road in the Myrtle Beach area.
Sullivan was crossing the highway into the median when she attempted to turn left toward Conway, pulling out in front of an oncoming truck, Bellamy said in an email.
Sullivan was a hospice nurse with Patriot Hospice & Palliative Care, Bellamy said.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the accident, reporting that there was entrapment, according to a Facebook post.
No other person was transported to the hospital, the post said.
Sgt. Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries.
