(Reuters) - New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Wednesday he expects to be charged with criminal offenses by the federal government that he said were "based on lies" and he vowed not to resign if indicted.

Adams' statement came after the New York Times reported he had been indicted following a federal corruption investigation, but the indictment is sealed and it is unclear what charges he will face.
