John Krasinski admits he "would absolutely love to" get involved with an Office US reunion, if it ever materialises.

The 40-year-old played Jim Halpert in the mockumentary sitcom across 201 episodes, and in the seven years since its series finale, whispers of a reunion have increased in volume.

It would be difficult to get the whole cast back together (Steve Carell is hot Hollywood property, and John isn't exactly short of top-tier work either), but in a recent interview with Esquire, the Jack Ryan star addressed the subject.

"The Office was absolutely everything to me," he said. "I mean, it is my beginning and my end. I'm pretty sure at the end of my career I'll still be known for Jim. It was the first creative family I've ever had.

"In many ways, they will always be the most important people in that most important experience in my career. So yeah, if they did a reunion, I would absolutely love to do it."

Surprisingly, Krasinski struggled to find a clear path for his career when The Office came to a conclusion, as he explained: "The Office was so big at the time, but I think a lot of people were afraid to cast certain cast members in anything else because they were just known as that one thing, which I completely understood.

"It wasn't an aggressive anger towards it. It was just a reality that I think I wasn't, if I'm honest, genuinely prepared for."

With his latest directorial effort A Quiet Place 2 arriving next month, it's safe to say he found a solution in the end.
