Ohio train derailment: ‘No hazardous materials' released from 2nd Norfolk Southern incident

Officials in Springfield, Ohio, provided a Sunday update after a second Norfolk Southern train was derailed on Saturday, approximately one month after a derailment in East Palestine caused environmental and health concerns. Local authorities from the fire department, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and Norfolk Southern said that “no hazardous materials" were released from the 20 railcars that derailed, including four tankers — but that such materials were found on the rest of the train.
