Oink, oink. Was there a wild hog at North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex? What we know
While one might expect people to walk their dogs at the park, seeing a pig roaming about is a much rarer sight.
That happened Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. Complex visitors saw a black pig walking around the area and people were questioning whether the animal was a wild hog. Facebook users took to the platform to post photos of the swine in the area.
Wild hogs are common sights in Horry County.
Public Information Officer Lauren Jessie said the pig wasn’t a wild boar but a potbelly pig. She also said the pig left the park and sports complex and added that she did not know where it was now.
“I‘m not sure the current status of the pig,” Jessie said. “I’m not fully aware of every measure that was taken.”
