From medals to wedding bells! Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek is engaged to real estate developer Duangpatra “Dang” Bodiratnangkura.

The athlete, 33, shared with People on Monday, April 8, that he had popped the question in Miami on April 1—Bodiratnangkura’s birthday.

“I cannot express enough how lucky I feel to have found my perfect match in this incredible girl,” he told the magazine. “She’s extraordinary in every way and she makes me a better man. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She’s not only brilliant and charming but gorgeous inside and out.”

He’s not the only one who thinks so: The Chicago native also revealed that after spending both Thanksgiving and Christmas in his hometown, his family was keen to have her as a daughter-in-law. “Afterwards they said unanimously … ‘Marry her!’” he revealed.

The 2010 Olympic gold medalist hinted at the pair's happy news on Instagram on Friday, April 5. “I’m the luckiest man alive,” he captioned a sweet shot of his fiancée cuddled close to his chest that showed off her massive princess-cut engagement ring.

Lysacek’s comments section blew up with well-wishes from the likes of Olympians Gracie Gold, Sasha Cohen, Nastia Liukin, Lindsey Vonn, Johnny Weir, and Kristi Yamaguchi—just to name a few.

The skater thanked his friends and fans on Sunday, April 7. “Dang and I are really excited!! And so happy to have support from you all, our family & friends,” he captioned a shot of himself dressed in a dapper suit with his wife-to-be in a two-piece bridal jumpsuit at the Four Seasons Hotel in Surfside, Florida.

The twosome, who plan to marry in December at Bangkok’s Nai Lert Park Heritage Home—a part of Bodiratnangkura’s family estate —met way back in 2011 when they were introduced by mutual pals.

Though the pair “Immediately connected,” it wasn’t until 2018 that they took things to the next level. “We’ve remained in close touch through the years, but really reconnected last summer,” Lysacek told People. “(We) have managed to live between our two cities (New York and Los Angeles) since.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
