This season's contestants on Dancing With the Stars, like Olympians Ilona Maher and Stephen Nedoroscik and Bachelor alum Joey Graziadei, have certainly made an impact on viewers. But there's one contestant who viewers can't help but note has certainly exceeded expectations, especially now that he's one of the five remaining duos headed into the semi-finals tonight.

Former NFL player and Super Bowl Champion Danny Amendola is the one that fans can't stop watching, especially impressed by his continued "growth" over the course of season 26 — an unexpected surprise seeing as he is typically more familiar with green turf than a ballroom dance floor. The DWTS account shared an Instagram clip which showed Danny with his pro partner Witney Carson dancing a Jive to "Good Golly Molly" by Little Richard during the 500th episode last week. The comment section was filled with fans who praised his continued improvement, and shared their amazement at the former Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver's impressive talents for tearing up the dance floor.

“Danny has been the surprise of the season for me 👏🔥,” one person commented. “He is the epitome of what the show used to be before it became a popularity contest...growth over the course of the season!" another chimed in. “Who I’m rooting for this season 😍🔥,” a different person wrote. One individual said, “I'm so sick of people saying they can only lift!! He can dance!”

Tonight, the five remaining couples will perform one ballroom dance and one Latin dance. The show will kick off with a group performance of Dua Lipa's "Dance the Night," choreographed by pros Sasha Farber and Ezra Sosa and will also include a special performance to a rendition of Tate McRae's "greedy" featuring the professional dancers set to join the DWTS LIVE 2025 Tour. Danny and Witney will perform a Viennese Waltz to "Gravity" by John Mayer and a Salsa to "I Like It" by Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin.

All we can say is that it seems appropriate tonight will feature Latin dance numbers, because boy is the competition really heating up. Do you think Danny and Witney have what it takes to win it all? We'll have to watch and see!
