One in custody, another injured in shooting at Wichita trailer park, officials say

One person was injured Friday afternoon in a shooting at a south Wichita trailer park, according to a Sedgwick County Emergency Communications supervisor.

The shooting was reported at 3:18 p.m. at Englewood Mobile Home and RV Park, 3201 E. MacArthur. The person had critical injuries, the supervisor said.

The person was shot in the chest, according to emergency communications scanner traffic. The 911 caller “did not see the suspect but they are currently with the victim,” according to scanner traffic.

Shortly after that, a first responder could be heard over the scanner saying “officer in trouble with one at gunpoint” at the trailer park. An officer could then be heard saying that the suspect is in custody.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
