One dead, two injured in Overland Park car crash: Police
One person died and two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle wreck on an Overland Park off-ramp.
The fatal crash took place around 3:25 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 435 near U.S. 69, according to Capt. Steven Edwards, an Overland Park Police Department spokesperson. The cars piled up on an off-ramp leading toward Antioch, disrupting rush-hour traffic coming in and out of Overland Park.
Emergency medical responders declared one of the riders involved in the accident deceased at the scene. The two injured riders were transported to a local hospital, one with critical injuries and one with minor injuries.
The deceased person has not been publicly identified. Police have not yet determined what led to the crash, according to Edwards.
