One man was killed and another injured after a shooting outside of Miami area bar

A Sunday predawn double shooting not far from a North Miami-Dade bar left one man dead and another hospitalized, police said.

Travis Sims, 45, was killed near the Tropicana Bar, 1057 NW 79th St.

Around 5:20 a.m., Miami-Dade police say officers found Sims when they answered a ShotSpotter alert in that block of Northwest 79th St.

Later, another man who had been shot was left at Hialeah Hospital. He’d be taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he remained as of Sunday.
