Onion Lake RCMP arrested two men who allegedly discharged a firearm at a residence on Onion Lake.

Onion Lake RCMP say they responded to a call at about 9:30 a.m. on April 10. The two men fled in a vehicle, which they later abandoned and then allegedly stole another truck and trailer with Saskatchewan license plate 271 IRC.

The truck was last seen in the area of Range Road 33 and Township Road 512. RCMP had issued a warning to the public saying the two men were believed to be armed and dangerous.

The two were arrested without incident this afternoon and police haven’t released their names. All stolen vehicles were recovered.

Onion Lake Cree Nation declared a state of emergency in January 2020 after the Nation experienced increased drug and gang-related activity.

Onion Lake Cree Nation borders the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan and is located about 50 kilometres north of Lloydminster.
