Ontario government providing new funds for local long term care homes

KAWARTHA LAKES: The Ontario provincial government is providing long term care homes in the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock riding with new funding.

According to a press release from MPP Laurie Scott’s office, sent on Wednesday, January 27th, the government is giving $1,602,100 to long term care homes in the area, “to increase prevention and containment efforts during the second wave of COVID-19.”

Some of this funding includes: $94,000 for Caressant Care Lindsay Nursing Home, $113,200 for Extendicare Kawartha Lakes, $76,300 for Fenelon Court, $39,400 for Frost Manor, $148,600 for Pinecrest Nursing Home and $121,900 for Victoria Manor, among others.

“Our government is focused on protecting our loved ones in long-term care homes, by providing new funding to help reduce the risk of the virus from entering homes, through enhanced prevention and containment measures,” MPP Scott said, in a statement.
